Please join us on Sunday, April 27 at 1pm in Newburyport for a gathering of environmental groups, organizations and advocates to hear from Scott and Amy Weidensaul who will speak on Birds: The Gateway to Conservation Action.
We don’t always think of birds as pollinators but they are key pollinators. Just the way bees and butterflies do, some birds visit flowers to feed on nectar and transfer pollen from one flower to another, facilitating plant reproduction. Some birds are generalists, visiting a variety of flowers, while others depend on specific plants. Come learn about these pollinating birds and many others with the Weidensauls.
The First Religious Society UU-Newburyport, and its Green Team, will be hosting this free presentation and reception on Sunday, April 27 at 1 pm.
Scott is an author of nearly 30 books on natural history and birds, and Amy, is an ecologist, educator and the Senior Regional Director for Massachusetts Audubon Society. They will speak on the extraordinary appeal and wonder of birds, and about engaging new communities with nature conservation and environmental activism.
Please RSVP at bethdclary@gmail.com if you can attend. We hope to see you then.
